About the role
Optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency of OpenAI's systems including ChatGPT and API. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve latency, throughput, and cost-efficiency.
What you’ll do
• Analyze and optimize performance across multiple system layers. • Develop tooling and metrics for system observability. • Collaborate with infra, platform, training, and product teams. • Lead investigations into performance regressions and scalability issues. • Drive performance testing and define SLAs/SLOs.
What you’ll bring
• 7+ years in software engineering with performance focus. • Experience with performance profiling and tracing tools. • Knowledge of OS internals and system-level optimization. • Experience with distributed systems and observability. • Ability to navigate ambiguity and align stakeholders.
