About the role
Join Wise as a Senior Backend Engineer on the Rules Platform team to build scalable risk and control tooling infrastructure. Help create reliable, maintainable systems for fraud, AML, and KYC risk assessments.
What you’ll do
• Build and evolve Rules Platform backend services. • Drive technical design for distributed systems. • Improve platform performance and reliability. • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers. • Own engineering initiatives from design to delivery.
What you’ll bring
• Strong experience with JVM languages like Java or Kotlin. • Experience with Kafka, SQL, and distributed systems. • Built or maintained internal shared libraries. • Confident in system design and technical decisions. • Strong product mindset and collaboration skills.
